Homeless Outreach Project: Almost ready!!

MCEC Palmers Green Mosque are pleased to announce we have purchased an ambulance for an ambitious project to help our homeless neighbours.
This week we treated rust and had the vehicle stickers made up. Throughout the upcoming week, we will be kitting it out with equipment, ready to go insha’Allah from next weekend.
The objective is to help deliver flu vaccines to homeless people around London through volunteer medics. This will help to alleviate pressure on local A&E departments especially during these busy winter months.
We are working with homeless shelters across London to visit them once a week and provide flu vaccines. Once flu season is over, the plan is to offer general health checkups and issue medication or referrals to local hospitals.
We are still waiting to hear from NHS England on whether they will provide the vaccines or whether we will have to purchase them ourselves but hope to hear from them soon.
