We’ve had lots of feedback on how Ramadan went for everyone which is great and overwhelmingly the comments were complimentary. People really liked the pink slips in the shoes as well!
But there are some questions we think need to be addressed and hopefully will clarify a few things for everyone.
Rules and their enforcement
The Masjid is a house of Allah and therefore should always be respected even greater then one’s own house. Every household has rules or it becomes a place of chaos so we enforce what is considered to be best for the majority of the congregation. If you feel we are being heavy handed, especially when things are busy, please come and talk to any of the trustees afterwards…in the heat of the moment things may be difficult to address to talking to us will likely sort things out.
What about the money?
All Donations are voluntary and no one is or has been forced to contribute. If there were no donations then you would not have had the MCEC centre for the use of Muslim Community of North London. Have a read of this for more info on how this centre came about.
People’s Behaviour
People behave badly. Simple as that. But some people will ignore the behaviour of our Prophet (SAW) in the face of adversity and despite repeated pleas will behave badly during Ramadan( e.g reserving places for friends and family, step over each other to get to the front and forget that we are all here for the same purpose). From day one, this centre has been a place not just for prayer, but with a strong focus on education. Hence the name Muslim Community and Education Centre and not just a Community centre. Therefore, the centre is a place not only for praying but also for learning and improving one’s knowledge about Islam and the only way this can happen is if we learn from each other and those who have more knowledge.
PS – Eid Gathering pics will be up soon insha’allah.
