Our children were attacked last night. Our children who went about doing what children do – enjoying what life has given them. And while they were at their happiest, evil people decided to wreak havoc and take their lives.
The killing of innocents is an evil act wherever it is perpetrated and cannot be condemned enough. It is evil and its backers have no place in this world.
The attack at the Manchester Arena last night is a terrorist attack. A criminal act for which the perpetrators, organisers, helpers should face the full force of the justice in this world and the hereafter.
Those who think that such actions are justified are not only misguided, they are wrong. Simply wrong and should face up to the horrors they deem acceptable and be held accountable for their heinous views.
Our prayers and thoughts are with those families who have lost members. We pray those injured will recover swiftly.
We pay tribute to the police and emergency services and the first responders who helped. It makes us proud to be part of this country when we see our fellow citizens doing what they do best – pulling together and helping to support everyone affected and they should be commended for their selfless acts.
As terrorists try to divide our free, safe and beautiful society, our determination to defeat them only strengthens. The courage and bravery of our society is what stands defiant in the face of abhorrent cowardice. Our resolve to defeat the hatred fuelling such acts is unwavering and will not change.
