There has been some confusion over this due to variations between moon sighting and calculations.
We would like to announce that along with other major London Masajid, Ashura is on Thursday 14th November (10th Muharram 1435). We advise all to fast on Wednesday and Thursday, in order to ensure Ashura is not missed according to all Hijri calendars. The Virtues of Fasting ‘Ashura’
Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Ashura’, and this month, meaning Ramadhan.” [Reported by al-Bukhari, 1867]
