DONATE

Donations to Palmers Green Mosque

MCEC Palmers Green Mosque take three types of donations.

Mosque Donations

This is for the upkeep of the centre and the delivery of its services. We work hard to keep these costs low through various means.

You can donate using the donate button above.

If donating by cheque please make cheques payable to ‘Muslim Community & Education Centre’

To do a direct bank transfer our details are:

Zakat & Sadaqa

We also take Sadaqa which is reserved and distributed to the needy and also when disasters strike around the world.

Thirdly we take Zakat which is again reserved for the needy as stipulated in the Qur’an.

Zakat & Sadaqa are considered restricted funds by MCEC, i.e. they cannot be used for the running of the centre.

We use this money for our projects which benefit society and those in need.

If you want to donate your Zakat or Sadaqa, you can drop it into the boxes in the centre, or directly into the Restricted Funds account:

Regular Giving

The best way to contribute in a small way is through a regular donation.

You can set up a standing order with your bank for a fixed amount a month.

We recommend a minimum of £5 every calendar month but the amount is up to you.

You can simply fill in the Standing Order Form and hand it to your bank.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase your donation by 25% as the UK Government give tax relief to Charities.

The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts of money by individuals who pay UK tax. Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor.

Charities take your donation – which is money you’ve already paid tax on – and reclaim the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.

Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give MCEC £10 using Gift Aid, the UK Government will add another £2.50 with no cost to you.

All you have to do is fill in the Gift Aid form and hand it in at the centre.
