Great Ormond Street Hospital is an international centre of excellence in child healthcare.
Since its formation in 1852, the hospital has been dedicated to children’s healthcare and to finding new and better ways to treat childhood illnesses.
The London to Brighton Sponsored Cycle Ride will raise some much needed funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s (GOSH) Haemophilia Centre.
Haemophilia is a genetically inherited bleeding disorder where there is a deficiency of a clotting factor in the blood. This results in a form of bleeding tendency. Thus, the haemophilia patient often suffers from easy bruising and bleeding into muscles and joints. Because of the genetic pattern of inheritance, the disorder generally affects males only.
This project is being led by Ajmal Masroor, Chairman of ChildrenPlus.
Message from Ajmal Masroor:
” The Haemophilia Centre at the Great Ormond Street Hospital has been providing my son and many other children with the best of care and support without failure. I would like to say thank you to the Hospital and it’s amazing staff for the care and love they have given to my son Ibrahim.”
