Every Ramadan you’ll hear announcements coming out during Tarawih to get your Zakat-ul-Fitr in early. Often you get blank looks as to why, and sometimes people will ask what do we do with it.
This year we took the step to pre-emptively distribute Fitr as soon as we can. One of the first beneficiaries are the families of students in Imam Bukhari Orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan.
We sent £3000 in zakat-ul-fitr and within a week have seen the distribution occur.

As a reminder, zakat-ul-fitr is £5 per person to be given before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer.
