Mitzvah/Sadaqa/Khidmat day – Sunday 10th and 17th November 2013

Insha’allah from Sunday 10th to Sunday 17th November, MCEC will be working with Shaarei Tsedek North London Reform Synagogue in Whetstone and All Saints Friern Barnet
It is does not revolve around dialogue and intellectual encounter, but rather around social action. The event is in three parts:
1. The first is a visit to Palmers Green Mosque at 5pm on 10th November by the congregation of both Synagogue and Church; If you want to help facilitate the visit Please could you let the centre know via email ([email protected]).
2. The second part involves bringing donations to two charities for which we will be collecting as follows

• Homeless Action Barnet
  • Men’s clothing
  • Outdoor clothing
  • Men’s shoes
  • Non-perishable food
• North London Hospice shops
  • Ladies and Children’s clothing

At All Saints Church Hall during the afternoon on Sunday, 17th November. There will be a chance to visit Sha’arei Tsedek Synagogue and All Saints’ Church on that afternoon. The donations of clothes will be sorted at All Saints before being given to Homeless Action in Barnet early in the week.
3. We also need  volunteers to collect donations of food from shoppers outside Waitrose on Mitzvah Day (17th November). There will be representatives of both Church and Synagogue sharing the task. The food, like the clothes, will be donated to Homeless Action in Barnet. Please let [email protected] know if you can help.
Please do come and take part on 10th or 17th November. This is an opportunity to make new friends and encounter, and to do some good along the way insha’Allah.
