Vacancy Announcement: Female Islamic Scholar – Weekly Sisters’ Halaqa Facilitator

The Muslim Community and Education Centre (MCEC) is seeking a dedicated Female Islamic Scholar to lead a weekly evening halaqa for sisters in our welcoming community space.

About the Role

Join us in delivering engaging and meaningful halaqa sessions designed for women from diverse backgrounds, including working professionals and mothers. Sessions will focus on building a strong foundation in:

  • Qur’anic understanding
  • Key Hadith
  • The Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

You will help create a warm, inclusive environment where sisters feel comfortable to learn, reflect, and grow in their faith.

Key Details

  • Location: Palmers Green Mosque, London
  • Schedule: 1 weekday evening per week
  • Contract: Part-time (paid or voluntary – to be discussed)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong grounding in Islamic studies (e.g., Alimiyyah or equivalent)
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Ability to connect with women from diverse backgrounds
  • Compassionate, approachable teaching style

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering halaqas or Islamic talks
  • Understanding of contemporary issues facing Muslim women
  • Community engagement experience
