Mount Snowdon

Mentes and Ferda, who are 12 and 13 years old. At the end of May, they will both be climbing mount Snowdon – a massive 3560 ft high!

The following notes are written by Mentes taken from his speech at Jumma on 18 April:

“We do loads of fun activities like playing football and we have also done karate; the girls have baked cakes and had a day where there was a contest to see who sold most chocolates.

There are lots of kids here at Green Stars, and I have indeed made loads of new friends. We went bowling not long ago and it was great to see so many happy faces having fun. Most importantly we have also learnt so much more about Islam.

We would appreciate it very much if you could sponsor us. What I’m hoping for is that we can raise enough money to keep our club going and make it better than it is.

My aim is to inshAllah reach the top, reaching the top of the mountain will be a great achievement for me as this will be the first time I will be climbing a mountain.

I am kind of nervous, but as I’m doing it for my youth club and brothers and sisters I am less nervous.

Finally I would like to thank all brothers and sisters who have made Green Stars great.

Please sponsor us and help us reach our target.”
