On 28th October 2017, MCEC hosted the much-anticipated charity football tournament “Goals for Rohingya!”
The day was a great success, Alhamdulillah! Seven teams from around London participated in action-packed matches with the ultimate goal of raising money for those in need.
The purpose of this tournament was to show unity and solidarity for our brothers and sisters across the globe.
We would like to emphasise the importance of giving charity and if we have the means and resources, we should always go out of our way to lend a hand.
By the grace of Allah and everyone’s helpful donations, we raised £765.80!
We would like to thank all the teams involved and special thanks to our Green Stars volunteers and referees! Everyone worked hard to ensure the tournament ran smoothly.
“
And be steadfast in prayer; practice regular charity; bow down your heads with those who bow down (in worship)”
Surah Baqarah, Verse 43
May Allah accept all our efforts and give us all the ability to attend, organise and host more events in the future. Ameen!
Haseeb, Husnain, Bilal
