“Read, and elevate yourself”
Green Stars held its first Inspiration Workshop with internationally renowned calligrafitti artist eL Seed on Friday 4th October at MCEC Palmers Green Mosque.
eL Seed began the session by explaining how he makes Arabic language accessible to everyone through his work by exposing it on large murals in public spaces and sharing a message specific to the culture of the country where he paints.

eL Seed emphasized on the importance of the “niyyah” (intention) when starting each piece, advising our young participants to always renew their intentions when working on any project. This would keep their focus and the sincerity of their act intact to avoid anger and pride coming in the way.
The discussion was followed by the spray-painting by eL Seed with 16 young people of our community a 4x2m canvas with the Arabic sentence “read, and elevate yourself” as a reminder of the importance of acquiring knowledge.

After completing the painting, eL Seed gave advice to our participants about knowledge, career and inspiring other people to strive for excellence – an important principle in Islam. He told young people to dream big and believe they can achieve great things with the will of Allah.
